(formerly Binion's Horseshoe)
One of the most dramatic casino facades ever was The Mint,
in Downtown Las Vegas. The sign and lighting were animated,
and you can still see the great Mint facade in old TV shows like 'Crime Story'.
The Mint was absorbed by Binion's Horseshoe, now just "Binion's",
and it takes up the whole block. (When inside Binion's, you
can tell when you go from the old Mint part to Binion's 'cause
there's a slight difference in the floor height.)
Despite several ownership changes, Binion's remains a great 'nostalgic'
icon of old Vegas. Get a burger at the grill just inside from Fremont Street.
